Feb. 8th This months's presentation is entitled: "Staying Alive" Basic Butterfly Biology: Morphology and Behavior. A 45 min presentation by Peggy Coon, Former Park Ranger with the National Park Service, State Park Docent, currently Chairperson for the Pismo State Park Monarch Butterfly Grove. Peggy will discuss how the butterfly's unique body parts, in all stages, help it stay alive. She will show the beautiful and unique colors on the inside and outside of butterfly wings and explain how these colors are used for protective coloration, warning, mimicry, and more. She will display her own pictures taken in Costa Rica and Belize.
